# Categories

A category groups opportunities together. Every opportunity belongs to exactly one category, and the `category` block nested inside the Opportunity object is the same record this resource exposes on its own.

Base path:

```

Creating a category through the API is the same operation as creating one in Vome, including your organization's setting for automatically enabling chat on new categories.
